Although we can't cover every possibility, we've tried to anticipate as many musical situations as we could. Finale 2014.5 has a new installer framework for both the Mac and PC, which should provide a more pleasant install experience for most users.For instance, on the Mac, the installer no longer throws up a message asking if you want to open a file from an unidentified developer.
For information on system margins, see Systems. Both can be set either from a menu or with the Page Layout tool. I just want to set the margins and then forget them and not mess around with all of this. There are two kinds of margins in Finale: page margins and system margins. The page prints as it is shown on the screen. But it still says 0.5' for all margins in the pull down menu even after the change.
Finale's flexibility allows for many approaches to a vast universe of musical styles. To get the right margin to display correctly (at 7.5') I have to set the tab to 7'. In particular, they assume you have worked through most of the Finale Tutorials. These steps assume some familiarity with Finale. These "how-tos" are devised so that, if you are in a hurry, you can skip the expository material and just follow the bulleted instructions step-by-step. Following each instruction is an explanation of the step you just took, a description of Finale's response to it, or a description of an available detour to another feature.
